Stamping With Pencil Eraser Background Using a Sunburst Stencil

Pencil Eraser stamped background sunburst thinlits die

It’s easy to create fun backgrounds by stamping with a pencil eraser dabbed in ink. Pair the pencil eraser background technique with a sunburst stencil, and you’ll have a card that is certain to brighten someone’s day!

To create this card, I started by cutting out my stencil using the Big Shot and Sunburst Thinlits Die out of scrap card stock.

I laid the stencil over my Whisper White card front and started adding ink using the eraser of a pencil.  I dabbed the eraser onto an ink pad, then stamped around the stencil.  I cleaned the eraser by swiping it onto my worksheet, then picked up the next color.

Colors used were Cajun Craze, Pumpkin Pie, Peek a Boo Peach, Crumb Cake and Crushed Curry.

After finishing, I removed the stencil and then sponged on a mixture of Crushed Curry, So Saffron and Peekaboo Peach inks around the eraser dots.

I stamped my greeting from Sunburst Sayings onto a scrap piece of Whisper White card stock using Cajun Craze ink.  I then punched it out using my 1 1/4″ circle punch.   The greeting was then layered onto a 1 3/8″ Crushed Curry circle, 1 3/4″ Crumb Cake circle and finally a 2″ Cajun Craze circle.

Clear Wink of Stella was brushed all over the card front to add a little shimmer.
