Is it spring yet?  Almost!

In anticipation of the arrival of spring, I decided to celebrate by pairing the stamp set Sheltering Tree with a pencil eraser to create a colorful tree filled with spring blooms!

I started by lightly sponging on Marina Mist ink onto my Whisper White card front.

I then stamped the tree from Sheltering Tree (very versatile and one of my all-time favorite stamp sets) using Early Espresso ink.

To create the blooms, I simply tapped the eraser on a pencil into various inks (swipe the eraser clean on your worksheet in between colors) and stamped the colors all around the tree.

Colors used were Melon Mambo, Cucumber Crush, Calypso Coral, Flirty Flamingo and Blushing Bride.

The grass below the tree was stamped using Pear Pizzazz.  I stamped full strength, then again without reinking.

The inspiration for this tree came from the explosion of blooms our apple, plum, pear, and peach trees put out every spring.  The array of colors always brings a smile.  So I decided to use the perfect “sending a smile…” greeting found in the stamp set  Love and Affection stamped in Melon Mambo ink.

I wrapped a piece of Gumball Green Thick Baker’s Twine around the card front, securing it in the back.  Then, I used another small piece to tie a simple knot in the front.

The card front was mounted to a piece of Early Espresso mat, then attached to the Melon Mambo card base.

Get out your pencils with erasers and start stamping! I hope you’ll share your creations.

The possibilities are endless!
