Snow Blooms-White Craft Ink Meets Sheltering Tree

Snow Blooms Sheltering Tree

Snow!  It’s easy to create the look of snow using white craft ink!

For this card, I wanted the tree from Sheltering Tree to be covered in snow blooms.

I started by stamping the blooms from Sheltering Tree onto my Smokey Slate card front.  I then stamped the trunk using Early Espresso ink.  I added some more snow the around the tree by stamping the ground image using white craft ink.

What is craft ink?  It is a pigment ink which means it is thicker and slower to try.  Drying time varies, but can take up to an hour depending on how inky your pad is.  Once it dries, it is waterproof and permanent meaning it will not fade.

Stampin’ Up! sells White Craft ink #101731, plus the refill #101780.

Want to add a little more oomph to your project?  You can add embossing powder to the ink and heat emboss to get raised or bolder images.  The ink stays wet longer, allowing you plenty of time to add your embossing powder and get it embossed.

Here, I stamped my blooms in white craft ink, then embossed them with white embossing powder.

You can see that the snow blooms pop more.

I hope you’ll try adding snow to your crafting projects by using white craft ink!
