For the Garden-Hand Scrub Gift Idea
I made these Garden Hand Scrubs as thank-you gifts for attendees at a recent class. Everyone in the group likes to garden, so I knew they would be appreciated.
I got the idea from Janet Holmes, and she graciously shared the recipe:
Dawn Ultra Hand Renewal with Olay Dishwashing liquid and sugar. That’s it!
I filled jelly mason jars 2/3 full of sugar, then topped them with dishwashing liquid. I stirred it well to mix in the sugar.
The soap is Pomegranate Splash. It looks pretty and smells good too. It reminded me of Stampin’ Up!’s color Blushing Bride.
Blushing Bride is part of this week’s Nacho Average color challenge:
Blushing Bride, Mint Macaron, and Melon Mambo
So, I thought I’d continue with the decorating using this color combination.
I used My Digital Studio to create the label on the top. I know SU! is no longer supporting MDS, but I still use it a lot. I created several Blushing Bride circles, then added the text in Melon Mambo. I printed the circles on full-sheet label paper. Once printed, I punched the circles out using my 1 3/8″ circle punch. I stamped the succulent image from the Paper Pumpkin kit “Thanks a Latte” in Mint Macaron. Then I simply peeled the backing off the label and added it to the top of the jar.
I wrapped some Melon Mambo ribbon I had in my stash around the lid and added a tag punched out of Blushing Bride card stock using my 1″ circle punch. I stamped the “thanks” greeting from Another Thank You in Melon Mambo ink and the succulent again in Mint Macaron. It is tied to the ribbon using Linen Thread.
For the back, I wrote the ingredients on the label that came with the jelly jars.
