My Paper Pumpkin Christmas Tree Boxes

I needed to create thank-you gifts for the Ladies of Wetmore who attended a recent techniques class.

While doing a general search on Pinterest, I saw the perfect idea for my thank-you gifts.  Thank you to  Connie Collins for inspiring me to use the pie-shaped cardboard boxes that came in the October My Paper Pumpkin kit.  Connie’s idea was to make these boxes into Christmas trees.  Brilliant!  I quickly assembled and decorated the boxes.  I used the Flower Patch stamp set and coordinating Flower Fair thinlits to create leaves. Buttons, snowflake sequins, candy dots, baker’s twine and a banner cut Merry and Bright greeting were added.  Then, I needed something to fill them.  I wanted to give my guests a baked treat, so I got out my favorite molasses cookie recipe.  Instead of making cookies in the usual roundish shape, I rolled out the dough and with a pizza cutter, cut out pie-shaped cookies that would fit in the pie-shaped boxes. Once the cookies were inside the box, I wrapped a pretty ribbon around the edges and added a coordinating bow at the top. Easy, peasy!

I watched the videos and realized how to do a shaker card. Pretty cool. The bubble wrap card is so much fun. The blue really stands out in each card. I like your videos. You get right to the card instructions. Great creative ideas. -D Welch
