Tangled Hummingbird

Oh my, I have caught the Zentangle bug!  I seem to do a little bit of tangling each day.

I created several of these fun cards to send as thank you’s to my customers.

Zentangle 032

I used a pre-printed sketch of the hummingbird found in the book Art of Zentangle.  I simply copied the sketch image out of the book onto a piece of Vellum Bristol Board paper.  Then, all I had to do was fill in the hummer with tangles.  I would never have been able to draw the hummingbird myself, so I gave myself permission to cheat a little by using the sketch in this wonderful book.  After all, Zentangle is supposed to be soothing, and I just took the stress of drawing right out of the equation!

Supplies Used:

Stamp Set: Teeny Tiny Wishes (for the greeting)

Ink: archival pens, pencil for shading

Paper: Basic Black, Vellum Bristol Board

Accessories: blending stump, Dimensionals

  1. Jill, Wow, thank you for your kind words.  I feel I have a long way to go with the Zentangle technique!

Id like to see some of your work.

    Thanks!  Anne

  2. Great job with the zentangle. It’s a technique I enjoying doing, but I must admit that I’m not that great at it yet…I’ll keep trying…thanks for the inspiration!

I watched the videos and realized how to do a shaker card. Pretty cool. The bubble wrap card is so much fun. The blue really stands out in each card. I like your videos. You get right to the card instructions. Great creative ideas. -D Welch
