Our CASology cue word this week is “bubbly.”
Here’s my contribution:
I was not planning on participating in this week’s challenge just because I have so much going on. I had put it out of my mind until suddenly I remembered learning a fun bubble painting technique years ago. Then I knew I had to play!
This technique is fun and easy.
What you need:
cups-You’ll need 1 for each color you are working with. I started out with an old coffee mug for the first color, then got out plastic cups for the next 2 colors.
water
dish soap
paint-I used Stampin’ Up! reinkers ( Midnight Muse, Strawberry Slush, Daffodil Delight)
watercolor paper
straw
something to cover your work surface. This technique can be messy!
I didn’t measure anything. If you need more bubbles, add more soap. If you need more color, add more paint.
1. Fill cups with water and dish soap. Stir to mix.
2. Add paint. Stir to mix.
3. Using a straw, blow bubbles in the water/soap mix. Blow them so the bubbles are above the rim of the cup.
4. Place the watercolor paper on top of the bubbles, allowing some of them to stick to the paper.
5. Continue adding other colors as desired.
6. When done, lay the paper down on your work surface. As the bubbles pop and dry, an outline of the bubbles will remain on the paper. The key is to let the bubbles pop and dry completely.

Accessories: cups, dish soap, water, straw

Anne, I toyed with this idea for my card…I’m so glad you did it! I loved doing this technique when I was a Girl Scout (Brownie Troop) leader…the girls loved it, too!
