Faux Quilt Card using Pansy Petals

Faux Quilt Card Using Pansy Petals!

I have said many times that I love working with fabric but don’t enjoy sewing.

While I have a sewing machine, it rarely gets used.

I don’t quilt, but I appreciate the beauty and time it takes to create one.

Discovering the Faux Quilting Technique, using paper instead of fabric, have led to many card creations over the years.

You can see more of my Faux Quilt Cards HERE

For this card, I used the pretty Pansy Petals Designer Series Paper to create a simple 9 block Faux Quilt card.

Here’s How:

  1. Punch or cut 9-1 1/4″ squares out of Pansy Petals Designer Series Paper.  I used a 1 1/4″ square punch from my stash, but you could easily cut the squares with a paper trimmer.
  2. Attach the squares on 4″ x 4 1/2″ Soft Sea Foam base.
  3. Emboss the quilt block using a die-cut machine and embossing folder to replicate the stitching.  For this card, I used the Brick & Mortar Embossing Folder as I liked the design and texture it provided.  Any of the embossing folders from Stampin’ Up! would work.  I did not emboss the entire Soft Seafoam base.  Instead, I placed the block so the bottom edge would not be inside the embossing folder, leaving it clear for stamping the greeting.
  4.  Stamp greeting from Pansy Patch stamp set using Blackberry Bliss ink.  I used my Stamparatus to get a good, stamped image.
  5. Attach to Blackberry card base.  Attach Bumblebee Trinkets to both sides of the greeting using Glue Dots to secure.
