This is one of the projects we created at a recent fall-themed class I held for the ladies of Wetmore. We used the Baby Wipe Technique, one of my all-time favorite stamping techniques!
All you need is a baby wipe and some reinkers to create a fun ink palette. Any kind of baby wipes will do. For the class, we used inexpensive baby wipes I purchased at ***mart.
Start by placing a folded baby wipe into a Powder Pal.
Create an ink palette by dripping ink from the reinkers onto the baby wipe.
Ink up the stamp,
and stamp on a piece of glossy white card stock.
Tip: Test the amount of ink on the stamp first by off stamping onto your work sheet. Add more drops of ink if needed. Reink and stamp on project piece.
You can get a few more stamps using this ink palette before the colors start to muddy and/or the baby wipe starts to dry out. Baby wipes are cheap, so just start out with a new one!
We stamped the inside of the card using the leaf image.
Supplies Used:
Stamp Sets: Lovely as a Tree, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Elegant Eggplant, Reinkers:Early Espresso, Elegant Eggplant, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive
Paper:glossy white for front, Whisper White card stock for inside, Elegant Eggplant
Accessories:baby wipe, Powder Pal

Looks really interesting have to try this!
This is awesome! I love this.
Priscilla, Use regular dye based reinkers. The kind you use to reink your dye based ink pads. Hope that helps.
Just a minute or two. You can always heat set it with a heat gun to speed up the process.
You can certainly do this technique using regular card stock.
It won’t be a vivid or bright.
Give it a try, and let me know what you think.
You said “re-inkers”, what kind, alcohol, regular office pads or stamping pads for art?
Looks awesome! Have to try this.
Why glossy paper? Can this technique be used on regular card stick as well?
Penny, I haven’t tried it on photo paper, but I would think it would work.
Give it a try and let me know!
Beautiful card. Have you tried this technique on glossy photo paper?
Heather, Since you are stamping on glossy card stock, it will take a little longer to dry than if stamping on regular matte card stock. I’d set it aside for a few minutes just to be safe. You can always use a heat tool to speed up the drying process. Just don’t put too much heat on it as you don’t want the paper to curl or burn. Hope that helps. Anne
How long does it take for the ink to dry on glossycard stock?
What a great idea, thank you so much for sharing..xx
Deb White, a “Powder Pal” is a tray that holds embossing powder. It has a funnel opening in one end so you can pour the embossing powder back into the jar from the tray. The blue tray in the photos above is the powder pal. Hope that helps.
What is a powder pal?

I don’t see why not, although I’m not sure what drawing inks are. Give it a try, and let me know how it turns out!
Beautiful card. Can you use drawing inks or marbling inks, as I have those? Many thanks
Thank you for your kind words. Give it a try, and let me know how it goes.
Love your technique! So simple with elegant results. Just by rotating the placement of the stamps you get a different color appearance.
THANKS for the tip.
Joyce Ingle, let me know how it turns out!

That is a fantastic idea i will do it when i have some baby wipe
Craft ink is thicker, so I’d make sure it was spread out. But, I don’t see why it wouldn’t work. Give it a try, and let me know how it works!
mmm, sure why not. Give it a try, and let me know how it works.
HOW ABOUT A WET DRYER SHEET ?
can you use craft ink in the same way?
Glad you like it!
love this way to get a unique image with the same stamp.
I’m glad you are enjoying the technique. Please share once you are ready!
Hilda Fitzpatrick. Love the idea but a bit more practice required before I show the results. Didn’t use glossy paper which I realised I should have done!!.

This is beautiful! Can’t wait to try it! 🙂
you can ink onto old t-shirts or other fabric (wet them a little first) if you like; also, plain newsprint or any other biodegradable paper will work. once the inks dry, they’re permanent, so are re-usable although they get pretty ugly.
Thank you!!!!
They are wet. You need the moisture from the wipe, plus the ink to create the ink palette for the stamp. Hope that helps.
Are the wipes wet or dry?
I’m not entirely sure, as I’ve not used Tim Holtz alcohol inks. But, I would think they’d work. I don’t see why they wouldn’t unless they dry faster than dye-based inks, not giving you enough time to ink up and the stamp and then stamp. Give it a try, and be sure to let me know!
Any idea if this could be used with Tim Holtz alcohol inks?
Faith, I agree. That is why I often use recycled baby wipes (and paper towels, cardboard, and paper scraps) in my crafting. Please check out my recycle and reuse page here: http://www.stampingwithbluemooncreations.com/my_weblog/recycle-and-reuse/
I admit it makes an interesting design but for anyone who is environmentally conscious, that’s extra wipes going into the landfill sites or sewers and No they do not degrade very fast. Is there any way you could re-produce this type of technique using a different material?
Thank you for your kind words!
cool technique! So pretty!
Glad you found the tutorial helpful. Have fun creating with the technique!
I’m late checking into this video, but appreciated your technique very much and anxious to try it soon. I will certainly check on more of your hints and tips as this one was simple to do. Thanks for it.
OMG !!!!!
Yes! It is a fun technique. Let me know how it goes. Thanks. Anne
This looks like a lot of fun I am definitely giving this a go thanks for sharing.
Thank you for your kind words! It’s a fun technique for sure!
This is sooooo cool. I just love it.
I am a long long long time stamper and appreciated being able to find your instructions so easy. I have forgotten so much of what I learned in my early years! Thanks again. Your cards are gorgeous!
Thank you for sharing how to do this! It’s so easy and so pretty. I found it on Pinterest and popped over to visit. Happy end of summer!
