Water Stamping is our technique challenge over at The Technique Twist site.
Here’s my contribution:
This technique is super easy. Here are the instructions provided by the ladies over at The Technique Twist:
Items needed: stamps, ink, sponges, plate, paper towels, & water.
Heavily sponge one to several colors of ink on your cardstock or other
choice of paper medium. Take a plate with a paper towel and soak it
with water – this is now your “ink pad’. Ink up your stamp with water
and stamp onto your cardstock. Hold for a few seconds and remove. Let
dry.

Tips:
Use lighter colored cardstock and darker inks. The water removes the darker ink making the lighter color more vivid.
I used Whisper White card stock.
I found it easier to swipe the color onto the card stock directly from the ink pad. I used Tangerine Tango and Daffodil Delight ink pads.
Stamps – Detailed Background stamps are great like the Sunflower and Hello Doily! You’re looking for good detail oriented stamps.
Water-I found it was easier, especially with the big Sunflower stamp, to spritz water directly onto the stamp. The stamp was fairly wet so I off stamped it first on my grid sheet work paper. Let the stamp sit on the ink for 10-15 seconds. Remove the stamp. At first, it won’t look like much, but as it dries, the image becomes more vivid. Cool!
I spritzed the sunflower piece using a mixture of alcohol and Frost White Shimmer Paint. The finished piece sparkles in person.
When I was finished, I was left with an interesting work sheet, inked up in random patterns of color from various projects including Tangerine Tango and Daffodil Delight. I thought I better use some of it to complete the card.
There was a section of the work sheet that had mostly Daffodil Delight. So, I colored in the middle of the sunflower using my Early Espresso marker, lightly spritzed the worksheet/Daffodil Delight ink with water, then stamped the sunflower over it. Once it dried, I punched the center using my 1 1/4″ circle punch. I originally intended to mat it on a larger 1 3/8″ Tangerine Tango circle, but in going through my craft pantry, I found a velum metal rimmed circle tag. Perfect! I simply attached the sunflower center to the tag and attached it to the card using Mini Glue Dots.
I still had lots of colored grid sheet paper left, so I stamped the greeting from Fabulous Florets on a section of various colors, cut it down and added a banner cut to one end.
This is a fun technique, and I plan on doing it again. Thank you ladies at The Technique Twist for your inspiration.

Ink: Tangerine Tango, Daffodil Delight, Early Espresso, Early Espresso marker
Paper: Sahara Sand, Early Espresso, Whisper White, Early Espresso, grid sheet work paper
