Split Negative Embossing Technique
Here’s a great technique to highlight heat embossing.
Emboss the same image on different colored card stock and heat emboss with two other embossing powders.
Then, cut and line up the images, creating the Split Negative Embossing Technique.

Heat embossing is still one of my favorite stamping techniques. I still get a kick watching the embossing powder turn!
I used white, black, and clear embossing powders for this technique.
Tip: start with the same size of white and black card stock. That helps when lining up the cut pieces after embossing.
For this card, I stamped the flower image from Blossoms in Bloom using Versamark ink on Basic White card stock, and heat embossed it using black embossing powder.
Then, I stamped it on Basic Black card stock and heat embossed it using white embossing powder.
For the black embossed sides, I stamped the flower centers in Polished Pink and heat embossed using clear embossing powders for an added pop of color.
I simply cut the images in half, giving me pieces for two cards.
By cutting them in half, it should be easy to line up the images with minimal trimming.
I trimmed a smidge off the left side and slightly more on the right side of each image.
I lined the pieces to match the images and added a greeting and embellishments to complete.
