Blending Brushes and Masking Technique-Happy Easter Card

Blending Brushes and Masking Technique
for an easy Easter card

blending brushes and decorative masks

I used a decorative mask from the Butterflies and Flowers mask collection to create this Easter card.

I used the colors Pacific Point, Granny Apple Green, and Mango Melody, but any color combination would work perfectly.

Choose your colors for endless possibilities!

Here’s How:

  1. Secure card front and decorative mask on your work surface using washi tape or similar, so they don’t shift.
  2. With a Blending Brush, add your first color to the mask.  My first color was Pacific Point.
  3. With a new Blending Brush, add your 2nd color.  My second color was Granny Apple Green.
  4. With a new Blending Brush, add your 3rd color.  My third color was Mango Melody.
  5. Work your way down the mask, alternating the three colors.
  6. Remove the washi tape and mask.
  7. Die-cut greeting using a die-cut machine and Word Wishes Dies (retiring).  Add the words to the card front using small dabs of Tombow Glue to secure.
  8. Attach to Pacific Point mat and then to Mango Melody card base.
  9. Add jewels for a bit of bling.

Done!

TIP: Have a collection of Blending Brushes so you can dedicate one brush to one color family.

For example, have a brush dedicated to reds, blues, yellows, oranges, purples, etc.

Three brushes come in a pack, so I suggest having two packs in your stash.

The brushes are easy to clean with water, but you don’t want to have to clean them in between colors if you don’t have to.

And mixing colors on one brush could lead to muddiness.
