Crafting with Cardboard
Upcycle and make a handmade card!
Like me, you probably have many cardboard boxes containing delivered shipments from Stampin’ Up!, Amazon, Chewy, etc.
The question is, what do you do with them?
Do you have a way to recycle them, or do you put them in the trash?
Well, I’m here to help with a fun crafting with cardboard idea.
Make a card!
I upcycled a cardboard box for this card and paired it with the Dragonfly Garden stamp set and coordinating Dragonfly Punch!
I stamped the dragonflies and greeting on pretty Tahitian Tide Glimmer Paper for a touch of sparkle.
Here’s How:
- Cut down a piece of cardboard from a box. Peel away the upper layer of paper, revealing the corrugated fragments of the cardboard.
- To distress the cardboard, rub Versamark ink over the ridges of the corrugation and heat emboss using a heat tool and copper embossing powder.
- Rub Memento Black ink along the ridges and edges to add more distress.
- Attach to Basic Black card base.
- Now for the decoration: stamp the dragonfly on Tahitian Tide Glimmer Paper using Memento Black ink. Over-stamp the wings using Parakeet Party ink. Punch out using Dragonfly Punch.
- Stamp greeting on Tahitian Tide Glimmer Paper using Memento Black ink. Trim and banner cut one end.
- Attach dragonflies and greeting on the cardboard card front using Dimensionals to pop them up.
- Add Glimmer Dots to complete.
