Kaleidoscope Cardmaking Background Technique-Dragonfly Garden

Kaleidoscope Cardmaking Background Technique

Using a punched circle as my mask, I added color using Blending Brushes, then paired the Kaleidoscope background with the Dragonfly Garden stamp set and coordinating Dragonflies punch.

The Kaleidoscope Cardmaking Background Technique is easy!

(You can see me other Kaleidoscope Background card Here)

Here’s How:

  1. Create a template by punching or die-cutting a 2″ circle out of scrap card stock.  I used my 2″ circle punch.
  2. You will use the punched circle for the Kaleidoscope technique.  Use the negative circle space for another project!
  3. Lay the circle on the Basic White card front.  Using a Blending Brush, add the first color around the edges of the circle.  Move the circle and add more color.  My first color was Crushed Curry.
  4.  Move the circle to a new space on the card front, and add the second color with a  new Blending Brush. Continue moving the circle, adding color as you go.  My second color was Gorgeous Grape.
  5. Continue moving the circle and add the third color with a new Blending Brush.  My third color was Granny Apple Green.
  6. Continue moving the circle and add the fourth color with a new Blending Brush.  My third color was Bermuda Bay.
  7. Fill in any areas by moving the circle and adding colors as desired.
  8. When satisfied, stamp the greeting from Peekaboo Farm using Memento Black ink.
  9. Stamp dragonflies from Dragonfly Garden on 2022-2024 In Color Glimmer Paper using Memento Black ink.  I used the Tahitian Tide Glimmer paper.  Punch using the coordinating Dragonflies Punch.
  10. Attach card front to Bermuda Bay mat.  Attach to Basic White card base.
  11. Attach dragonflies using Dimensionals to pop them up.
  12. Add black gems to complete.
