Paper Towel Background for Aspen Dies

Paper Towel Background
Paired with Aspen Dies for a unique sunrise or sunset background!

I often use the paper towels I have used for cleaning stamps or blotting watercolors in my crafting.

They add interesting colors and textures to a card project!

Plus, it’s good to recycle and reuse!

Paper Towel Background How-To:

  1. Separate the plys of the paper towel and attach one piece to scrap card stock using adhesive.  I use Stampin’ Seal by Stampin’ Up, but any tape runner type adhesive will work.  Adhesive Sheets would work well too.  By attaching the paper towel to card stock, you’ll be able to cut it down to the size you need easily.  Trim to the size needed for your project.   In this case, I trimmed it down to 5 1/4″ x 4″ to match the die-cut aspen.
  2. Using a die-cut machine, cut the aspen out of 5 1/4″ x 4″ Basic White card stock.
  3. Stamp greeting using Early Espresso ink.  I used the greeting from Peekaboo Farm.
  4. Attach Mini Dimensionals to the back side of the aspen die-cut.  The trunks of the trees are broad enough for the Mini Dimensionals.
  5. Attach the trees to the paper towel background.
  6.  Optional: I decided I wanted to add Fall leaves to the aspen.  I cut the leaves out of Pumpkin Pie and Cajun Craze card stock using the leaf die found in Aspen Dies.
  7. Attach the leaves using a small amount of Liquid Glue.
  8. Attach to Early Espresso card base.
  9. Attach Amber Gems to complete.
