Blending Brush Watercolor Background
Use Blending Brushes to create an easy watercolor background.
For this card, I paired the technique with the Sunflowers Die for an easy Fall-inspired card.
The color possibilities are endless!
Here’s How:
- Cut sunflower out of Basic White card stock using a die-cut machine and Sunflower Die. I tried to keep the bit pieces intact in the sunflower. They can be removed later.
- With a Blending Brush, add Pumpkin Pie ink to a section of the sunflower.
- With a new Blending Brush, add Cherry Cobbler ink to another section of the sunflower.
- With a new Blending Brush, add Crushed Curry Pie ink to another section of the sunflower.
- Continue adding color, blending the ink as you go. Make the colors as light or as dark as you want.
- Lightly spritz the sunflower with water, mixing the colors. Set aside to dry.
- In the meantime, emboss Basic White card front using a die-cut machine and Timeworn Type Embossing Folder.
- Stamp greeting using Memento Black ink. I used the Stamparatus to get a good stamped image over the embossing.
- Attach to Basic Black mat and then Basic White card base.
- Poke out bits of the inserts of the sunflower as desired.
- Attach the sunflower, including the center, to the card front using Mini Dimensionals to pop it up.
- Add Metallic Gems to the center of the sunflower to complete.
