Floating Strips Valentine’s Card

Floating Strips Valentine’s Card

An easy technique, perfect for using up paper scraps!

I used strips of He’s the Man Designer Series Paper to give this Floating Strips Valentine’s Card a masculine spin.

You can see more of my Floating Strips creations HERE

Here’s How:

  1. Cut strips of designer paper or card stock into various widths.  I used 1/2″ and 1/4″ wide strips for this card.  The length needs to be the width of the punch or die-cut you’ll be using. Use what you have on hand in paper scraps.
  2. Adhere the strips on a window sheet, alternating the colors and leaving a space in between.  Use a window sheet slightly larger than the punch or die you are going to be using.
  3. Punch or die-cut a shape out of the window sheet. Any shape of punch or die will work.   I used the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine and a heart die from my stash  for this card.
  4. Layer the piece on a card front, placing Mini Dimensionals on the back side where the strips of paper are showing.  This way, you won’t see the Dimensionals from the front.
  5. Stamp greeting on card front.  I used the greeting from Share a Milkshake stamped in Early Espresso ink.
  6. Attach to Sahara Sand card base.  Add metallic dots to complete.

Done!

And you’ve used up some of your paper scraps!

The possibilities are endless!
