Stamping With Blue Moon Creations

Oceanfront Watercolor Background

Oceanfront Watercolor Background

It’s easy to create a watercolor sunrise landscape using elements of Oceanfront stamp set.

All you need is watercolor paper, ink, and a spritzer bottle with water!

Here’s How:

I found it’s easiest to use the Stamparatus or similar stamp positioning tool.

  1. Place watercolor paper in the stamp positioning tool.  Position the “sky” image found in Oceanfront on the front plate of the tool, lining it up where you’d like it on the watercolor paper.
  2. Color the sky image by tapping ink pads directly onto the image.  I used Calypso Coral and Crushed Curry inks for this card.  Lightly spritz the stamp with water and stamp.  Let the stamp sit on the watercolor paper for a few seconds, then lift the plate.  Repeat if needed to get a good inked image.
  3. Remove the sky image and replace it with the “water” image.  Line up the image below the stamped sky.  Color by tapping ink pads directly onto the image.  I used Coastal Cabana and Pool Party inks.  Lightly spritz with water and stamp.  Let the stamp sit for a few seconds, then lift the plate.  Repeat if needed.
  4. Remove the water image and replace it with the “land” image.  Line up the image below the stamped water.  Color by tapping the ink pad directly onto the image.  I used Crumb Cake ink.  Lightly spritz with water and stamp.  Let the stamp sit for a few seconds, then lift the plate.  Repeat if needed.
  5. Set aside to let the piece dry for a few minutes.  Stamp large beach grass image using Wild Wheat ink.  Stamp smaller beach grass image using Pebbled Path ink.  Stamp full strength, then again without reinking. Stamp speckles in water using White Craft ink.  Clean stamp and stamp again in the sky using Crushed Curry ink.  Stamp birds from Waves of Inspiration using Pebbled Path ink.
  6. Stamp greeting from Pansy Patch on a Basic White card base using Pebbled Path ink.  Attach landscape to Early Espresso mat.  Attach to the card base using Mini Dimensionals to pop it up.

Done!

This Oceanfront watercolor background was very easy to create!
