Masterfully Made Easy Gift Bag

Masterfully Made Easy Gift Bag

Sometimes you need a special bag for that special gift.

Here’s an easy gift bag idea made using the pretty Masterfully Made Designer Series Paper.

I will admit, I don’t make gift bags and boxes much any more.

I remember making a lot of them when I first started stamping first as a customer, then as a demonstrator.

Seems like they were all the rage, and we made them in workshops, stamp clubs, and stamp camps.

In fact, I still have a drawer full of these little 3D projects in my craft room.

I don’t dare throw them away as each one provide a special memory of a stamping event.

When I saw this pretty design in the Masterfully Made Designer Series Pack, my mind went immediately to creating a gift bag!

I paired the DSP with the Circle Sayings stamp set.

Here’s How:

1. Create bag:
-start with 12” x 6” piece of Masterfully Made Designer Series Paper.
-score on the short side at 1 1/2” and 5 1/2”
-score on the long side at 4”, 5 3/4”, 9 3/4”, and 11 1/2”
-on the long side, fold the 1/2” tab back so you see the back side design of the DSP. Attach a strip of Tear & Tape to secure.
-fold along the score lines using a bone folder to get crisp score lines
-on the short side, cut and remove the bottom 1/2” tab
-on the long side, cut a “v” shaped slit up the score lines to the 1 1/2” score line.
-attach a piece of Tear & Tape on the 1/2” tab. Remove the backing and fold the box to meet the sides.
-apply Tear & Tape to the two small tabs and to one of the long tabs. Fold in tabs to create the box (small tabs first). Push from the inside of the box to make sure everything is secure.
-fold top of the box in at the sides
-wrap 22” ish of ribbon around the bottom and tie at the top to secure closed.
2. Stamp images from Circle Sayings on Basic White card stock using Berry Burst, Pretty Peacock, and Crushed Curry inks. Punch using 2 3/8” circle punch. Attach to 2 1/2” Pretty Peacock mat. Attach to front of bag using Mini Dimensionals to pop it up.
