Stamping With Blue Moon Creations

Fragrant Forest

Fragrant Forest

was found in the Sept-Dec Mini Catalog from Stampin’ Up!

It is one of my favorite stamps from the catalog and fortunately it has been carried over and still available!

This stamp is perfect for my location in the mountains of Southern Colorado.

This is a large background stamp, so it is best to use with a stamp positioning tool like the Stamparatus.  You want to be able to ink and stamp as many times as needed to get a good stamped image.

For this card I used Shaded Spruce ink stamped on a Basic White card front.

I added a little bit of shimmer paint from my stash using a sponge dauber along the trees and ground for a little sparkle.

The greeting is from Zany Zoo.  I added a piece of crinkled white ribbon from my stash to complete.

While I was creating this card, I had a little mishap.

I dropped the Shaded Spruce ink pad face down onto my dining room table!

I quickly got a wet paper towel to clean up the mess.

Well, you know me.  I often incorporate paper towels used to clean stamps or blot watercolors, and this was no different!

I set the paper towel aside to dry, all the while thinking what card could I create next using it?

It had such pretty shades of green, plus it had a slight glimmer from the shimmer paint used on the card above.

I decided to pair it with the Fragrant Forest stamp for a little bit of interest and texture.

I attached the paper towel to a piece of Basic White card stock, allowing me to cut it down to the size needed.

The Stamparatus was especially important for stamping the image on the paper towel.  I reinked the pad and it took 5 stampings to get the image to cover the textures of the paper towel.

I added more shimmer paint to the image as well as a greeting from the Sending Smiles stamp set.

Here’s the final result!
