Alcohol Ink Smooshing Technique
for card making
using Better Days stamp set
Use your Stampin’ Blends or other alcohol inks to create interesting backgrounds.
Here’s How:
- You will need a window or transparency sheet, 91% isopropyl alcohol, and alcohol-based ink or markers. This technique works best if you use 91% isopropyl alcohol.
- Scribble the Blends on a piece of window or transparency sheet. For this card, I used Night of Navy, Pool Party, Daffodil Delight, Calypso Coral, and Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends.
- Spray the ink with 91% isopropyl alcohol in a spritzer bottle. The ink will pool and run.
- Place a piece of Basic White card stock down into the ink, and press with your fingertips. Lift and set aside to dry. It’ll just take a few seconds for the ink to dry.
- Stamp image from Better Days using Memento Black ink. Fussy cut image using scissors.
- Attach to card front using Mini Dimensionals to pop it up. For this card, I used the retired Waves of Inspiration DSP stamped with Flora and Fauna greeting using Memento Black ink.
- Mat card front to Basic Black mat. Attach to So Saffron card base.
Done!
