Beautiful Pumpkin on Dictionary Page

Beautiful Pumpkin on Dictionary Page

I’ve held onto an old dictionary that my great-grandmother gave me when I was about ten.

The spine eventually broke, and the book now splits into two sections.

Over the years, I’ve used some of the pages for different creative projects, and I knew those well-loved pages would make the perfect backdrop for a Beautiful Pumpkin card with a weathered, vintage feel.

For the Beautiful Pumpkin card, I used the dictionary page with the definition of autumn!

Old books, encyclopedias (remember those?), and even magazines offer fantastic pages for projects like this—giving them a second life in your craft room!

Dictionary Beautiful Pumpkin How to:

Create the Card Front

    1. Stamp the solid pumpkin image from Beautiful Pumpkins with Crushed Curry ink onto a dictionary page.
Tip: Make a photocopy of the page and print it on cardstock so you can reuse the original later.

    2. Stamp the detailed pumpkin layer with Pumpkin Pie ink.

    3. Stamp the stem, vine, and leaves with Mossy Meadow ink. Stamp once for a bold image, then stamp again without re-inking for a lighter second impression.

Assemble the Card

    1. Emboss Pumpkin Pie cardstock with the Leaf Fall Embossing Folder.

    2. Stamp the greeting with Memento Black ink.

    3. Adhere the embossed panel to a Basic Black card base.

    4. Mount the pumpkin card front on a Basic Black mat, then attach it to the card.

    5. Add black dots to finish the look.
