Construction Zone Valentine’s Day Card

Construction Zone Valentine’s Day Card

for our 4-year-old Grandson who likes all things mechanical.

It’s easy to create cards for him using the Construction Zone stamp set from Stampin’ Up!

Construction Zone Valentine’s Day Card How To:

1.Stamp, color, and fussy cut the truck and workman from Construction Zone.  I stamped the images on scrap pieces of Basic White card stock using Memento Black ink, then colored using a variety of Stampin’ Write Markers.

2.Create the sky background on Basic White card front using Balmy Blue ink.  I used my cloud template and sponge to create the clouds.  You can view my “Creating a Template for a Cloudy Background” how-to video.   (This was my very first YouTube video I shared 14 years ago!)

3.To create the road and landscape:

-The road is a piece of Black Glimmer Paper (retired) cut the width of the card front.  I added 1/4″ wide pieces of Basic White card stock to the center to create the lanes.

-The grass and mountains were cut out of burlap paper (non SU!) from my crafting stash using my Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine and the new Sending Love Dies.

4. Attach the road and landscape to card front, then to Balmy Blue mat.  Attach to Basic White card base.

5. Attach truck and workman to card front using Mini Dimensionals to pop them up.

6. Punch hearts out of Real Red, Daffodil Delight, Highland Heather, Petal Pink, and Lucky Limeade card stock using Bee Builder Punch.

7. Attach pieces of black Baker’s Twine from the workman’s raised arm up to the sky on the card front.  I used a small line of Tombow Liquid Glue as my adhesive.  Add the large hearts to the top of the twine using Mini Dimensionals to pop them up.  Add smaller hearts and the small heart to the cement truck using Mini Dimensionals .

8. Add gems and jewels embellishments to the small hearts to complete.

I know our grandson will love his Construction Zone Valentine’s Day card!
