Crank Up the Texture: Gears, Stencils & Shine
I had a stack of leftover die-cut letters from various projects using the Mini Alphabet Dies, and I knew they could be repurposed for something new.
Stencils!
Those negative pieces were perfect for an industrial, collage-style card, layered with embossing, stamping, and designer papers.
I began by embossing sections of the Basic White card front using the Brick and Timeworn Script Embossing Folders to build texture.
Next, I stamped text from Elements of Text with Memento Black Ink, allowing some of the words to fade into the background for added depth.
For the stenciling, I placed the leftover alphabet stencil pieces in select areas and blended Secret Sea Ink over them, then blended Cloud Cover ink over the entire card front.
I then die-cut several elements from retired designer series paper, Smokey Slate, and Basic Black card stock using the Gears & Textures Dies, securing them randomly across the card front for a layered, mechanical look.
To finish, I sponged the edges with Memento Black Ink and mounted the panel onto a Secret Sea mat and Smokey Slate card base.
