Feb 21 sketch challenge

Sometimes it helps to have a jumping off point with your crafting, and a sketch challenge is a perfect way to start!

Use the sketch as a blueprint for your own creations.

I will be sharing sketch challenges every so often.

I hope they provide inspiration, and you’ll share your creations with me!

I created this card using the February Sketch.

February Sketch Challege-Acrylic Block Watercolor Background

It features the Acrylic Block Watercolor Background Technique, paired with Corner Bouquet, a Sale-A-Bration choice available through Feb 28.

Colors used for the background are Pacific Point, Highland Heather, and Blushing Bride.

I first cut the squares out of watercolor paper using my Cut & Emboss Machine and Layering Squares Dies.

I placed them on a sheet of grid paper to get the correct alignment.

I tapped the ink pads onto my clear block, spritzed the block with water, then placed it on the squares.

I let it set for a few seconds, allowing the ink to pool and run, then lifted it up.  I blotted any excess ink using a paper towel to be used for another project.

See my Recycle and Reuse Page for paper towel backgrounds!

To stamp the images from Corner Bouquet, I set up the squares in my Stamparatus, again using a piece of grid paper for the proper alignment.

I then stamped the images a few times using Night of Navy ink.  The Stamparatus is invaluable for getting a good inked image,  especially when stamping on the texture of watercolor paper.

The greeting is from Sweet Strawberry.
