Make a Bee Using the Ladybug Punch
I’m always looking for alternative ways to use my stamping supplies. This was the case with the Ladybug Builder Punch from Stampin’ Up!
While it makes the cutest ladybugs, I wondered what other kinds of insects it could be used to make.
Why it’s easy to make a bee using the Ladybug Punch!

Here’s How to Make a Bee using the Ladybug Punch:
- To make the bees, start with a piece of Basic Black card stock measuring 4 1/4″ x 5″. Cut three strips of Daffodil Delight card stock measuring 1/4″ x 5″. Attach the Daffodil Delight strips to the Basic Black, leaving space in between using Tombow Liquid Glue. Set aside to let the glue dry.
- Using the Ladybug Builder punch, punch bee bodies out of the black and yellow striped card stock. You can get three bee bodies out of this piece. You don’t need the head of the bee for this part, so trim it off if necessary.
- Punch more bee bodies out of the part of the card stock that is all black.
- Attach the stripes body to the all-black body.
- Punch the wings out of Vellum card stock using the Ladybug Builder Punch. Attach to the bee bodies using a Glue Dot. To hide the Glue Dot, add a Black Matte Dot.
- Stamp two flowers from the Hello Ladybug stamp set using Daffodil Delight. Fussy cut using scissors. Layer one on the other using adhesive in between.
- Stamp greeting on a scrap piece of Whisper White card stock using Black Memento ink. Stamp smaller flowers using Daffodil Delight ink. Banner cut a Basic Black mat and attach greeting.
- Emboss Basic White card front using die-cut machine and Hive Embossing Folder. Attach to Basic Black mat.
- Attach Designer Series Paper to Basic Black card base. Add flower and bees.
- Attach greeting to card front using Mini Dimensionals to pop it up. Add Black Matte dots to the flower centers to complete.
