If you are looking for an unusual, yet fun way to send birthday or other greetings to someone special, why not send them a message in a bottle? You can mail them. Yes, I said you can mail them. The post master may look at you a little funny, but they will accept plastic bottles addressed for mailing. It will cost you $1.35 to mail a 16 oz or smaller plastic bottle. And it is my experience that they arrive in good condition. But I would suggest using a heavier weight plastic bottle so it is not crushed in transit. This is a good way to recycle and re-use also!
I have been giving my Stamp Club members Happy Birthday wishes in a bottle all year long. I created a special message featuring the great quote below by Dr. Seuss by using My Digital Studio. After printing it out and adding my own personal sentiment, I roll it up and tie a pretty ribbon around it. I fill a plastic bottle with confetti and put the message inside. I then print a label for the front, and I’m done. It is so easy, yet it is one of those projects that brings a smile.
Here is the message I created in My Digital Studio. I love adding quotes, poems or song lyrics to my projects. A quick internet search will give you a variety of sources. My favorites are quotes from Winnie the Pooh and Dr. Seuss!
