Punched Books-CASology Book Challenge

CASology Honorable Mention

Update: Woo Hoo, this card was chosen as one of the “Honorable Mentions” by the CASology Design Team!  Thank you ladies.  I so enjoy the CASology site and find daily inspiration in the beautiful creations shared by all.

Our CASology cue word this week is “book”.

Here’s my contribution:

Punched books 006-1

The “books” were made using 1/2″ wide strips of Designer Series Paper cut to various lengths.  I slipped the ends of the paper into my Word Window punch to make the cut and rounded edges. If you’d like wider books, start with a wider strip of paper (3/4″, 1″ etc), and punch the ends using a 3/4″ or 1″ circle punch.

This way to make the cut edge:

This way to make the rounded edge:

I built the books on a scrap piece of paper, popping them up using Dimensionals.  Then I trimmed the edges of the scrap paper so it wouldn’t be seen.  Then, the books were layered onto the card base using Dimensionals.

Stamp Set: Define Your Life, Tiny Tags

Ink: Calypso Coral, Basic Gray

Paper: Very Vanilla, various Designer Series Paper

Accessories: Word Window and Heart to Heart punches, Calypso Coral Baker’s Twine, Dimensionals, sponge
