The Shaving Cream Technique (also known as the Marbling Technique) is one of my all-time favorites!
You can see more of my Shaving Cream Technique cards Here
All you need is some shaving cream (not the gel type), a few ink refills, a paper plate, paper towels (this is a messy technique, so be sure to have plenty of paper towels on hand for the cleanup), and something for swirling/mixing.
I paired the shaving cream backgrounds with Celebrate Sunflowers stamp set and coordinating Sunflowers Die.
I created these two cards to show my solidarity with the people of Ukraine.
Here’s How:
- Dispense a pile of shaving cream into a disposable paper plate.
- Add drops of reinker. I used Pacific Point, Balmy Blue, and So Saffron.
- Swirl and mix, but not too much. I used a wooden skewer. You don’t want the colors to become muddy.
- Squish regular card stock into the pile.
- Remove and clean off with a paper towel.
- You can remix the shaving cream and add another piece of card stock for a second background.
- To finish the card:
-stamp sunflower from Celebrate Sunflowers using Night of Navy ink. Heat emboss using a heat tool and clear embossing powder.
-cut using die-cut machine and coordinating Sunflowers Die.
-cut leaves out of Pear Pizzazz and Garden Green card stock using Sunflowers Dies. Attach detail cut-out to solid using Tombow Glue.
-add sunflower and leaves to shaving cream background using Mini Dimensionals to pop them up.
-stamp greeting using Pacific Point ink. I used the Stamparatus.
-Attach to Pacific Point mat. Attach to So Saffron card base to complete.
Done!
