Tart and Tangy is one of my favorite stamp sets. It is available in the Occasions Mini Collection 2008 through June 30.
The glass was made out of vellum card stock. I drew out a template on computer paper, traced the pattern onto the vellum card stock and cut out. I made the template a little larger so I could score the sides of the vellum at 1/4″ and fold under to give a more finished look. I sponged on a little Rose Red ink to make it look like Strawberry lemonade in the glass. I then used Mini Glue Dots, one at the top, one in the middle and one at the bottom, on each side to secure the glass to the card. I put a strip of Sticky Strip at the rim and then added glass beads to make the glass look frosted.
I inked up the lemon slices using Regal Rose and Rose Red markers. I cut a slit up the center of this one to attach to the rim of the glass. I also added Crystal Effects and Dazzling Diamonds for added sparkle.
Wouldn’t this card be cute as a glass of ice tea with a slice of lemon on the rim?
This was my inspiration piece! I was going through some of my older samples and found this card I created last year. Doesn’t it make you wish you were on a beach with your feet in the water enjoying the cool ocean breeze?
