Sweet Pea Bird House Card

This fun little bird house was the quick and easy make-n-take card the Blue Moon Stampers created at my monthly down line meeting this month.  We used paper from the Sweet Pea Designer Series Pack found in the Spring Occasions Mini from Stampin’ Up! It comes with 48 12×12 sheets, 2 each of 24 double-sided designs.  That’s a lot of paper! I’ve had so much fun using this paper for various projects.  This one is one of my favorites.

Because of the way the hole for the birdhouse entrance and the cut and score lines print on the original pattern, you have to fold it in a way that the lines on the pattern are covered by your decoration.  This makes the card open backwards.  Thanks to my friend Melita who flipped the pattern for me and saved it as a new document.  The text is backwards, but the pattern is now correct.

I printed the pattern right on the So Saffron 8 1/2 x 11 card stock.  Cut out the pattern using scissors and fold along the printed score lines. After cutting out the roof piece, I traced it twice onto a piece of the Sweet Pea DSP and cut out.  I added one of the roof pieces to the back side of the bird house in order to cover the cut and score lines on the pattern.  Very simple.
