Torn Paper Technique
A fun and easy card-making technique!
Tear the card front, and roll it back to reveal a pretty insert!
The insert could be a stamped image, a landscape image, a photo, or….?
The possibilities are endless!
Here is my first attempt at the Torn Paper Technique.
My reveal is a landscape using the New Horizons 6″x6″ Designer Series Paper from Stampin’ Up!
Any designer paper will work. Just choose a coordinating color of card stock for the card front.
I know tearing paper is hard for some, but it’s ok.
Just breath and tear!
Here’s How:
- Tear a strip out of the card front. You want it to be a narrow strip but wide enough so the design on the insert will show through. I used Fresh Freesia card stock.
- With a straw or dowel, roll the torn strip back.
- Adhere with a thin line of liquid glue. Set it aside to dry completely.
- Option: sponge ink along the torn edges using a Sponge Dauber, sponge, or Blending Brush. I used Blackberry Bliss ink and a Sponge Dauber.
- Cut a piece of designer paper a little larger than the torn paper. You can adjust and trim it to fit within the opening.
- Stamp greeting. I used Flora and Fauna from an older Paper Pumpkin kit stamped using Blackberry Bliss ink.
- Attach to the card base (Blackberry Bliss), and add embellishments of your choice.
