Our swap challenge for the Saturday Stamp Club in February was to make a “friendship” window card. Since I was going to be in my home town of Albuquerque, New Mexico, the hot air balloon capital of the world, I thought I’d use the fun and very appropriate stamp set Up, Up & Away from Stampin’ Up!

To make this card:
I temporarily attached a piece of Bashful Blue card front to a Whisper White card base using Dotto (temporary adhesive). I then cut a window out of both pieces using my Big Shot and 3″ circle die.
I closed the card and sponged the sky background on both the Bashful Blue card front and the Whisper White card base on the inside. I used a scallop circle as my template for the sky. For a quick tutorial on how to create a cloudy background, please visit here.
I removed the Bashful Blue card front, then attached a square piece of window sheet on top of the Whisper White card base. I reattached the Bashful Blue card front on top of the window sheet, creating a sandwich.
To finish off the edge of the cut circle, I cut a Rich Razzleberry rim using two of the Nestabilities circles from Spellbinders (non SU!)
I laid the circles on a piece of Rich Razzleberry, the smaller circle positioned inside the larger circle, and then ran the piece through my Big Shot creating a rim. I did this step twice so I would have a rim on both the inside and outside of the window.
I stamped the balloons and gondolas on a scrap piece of paper, cut them out and popped them up on the inside circle. I then stamped the birds and greeting on the inside.
