When I first saw the catalog, I was immediately taken with the cute chick in the Honeycomb Happiness stamp set. He just makes me smile!
So, here’s my first project using that cute little chick:
I often use baby wipes to clean my stamps as I am working. Once they dry, I am left with a brilliant mix of colors, kind of like tie dye. Great for fun backgrounds!
I first glued my baby wipe onto a piece of white card stock using a Anywhere Glue Stick, and then cut it down to my desired size. If the baby wipe is glued to a backing, it is easier to cut. Then, I simply stamped the chick, balloon and greeting using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I added a Marina Mist Candy Dot to the balloon just for a little extra interest.
Recycle and reuse!
For my second project, I coupled the cute ice cream cone image with the Bokeh Technique, one of my favorites.
I first created a card stock circle template using my 1/2″ and 3/4″ circle punches. Then, with sponges, I added Melon Mambo, Blushing Bride, Cucumber Crush and Soft Suede ink, overlapping the circles to create the Bokeh effect. The ice cream cone was stamped using Soft Suede and Cucumber Crush ink and then I added a fun Mint Macaron Honeycomb Embellishment found in the new Occasions Catalog.
My third project combines Honeycomb Happiness with one of the cards from the January Paper Pumpkin kit called One Great Year. The project in the kit is a desk calendar and has pre-printed cards to embellish. I decided I didn’t want to make the calendar, but I like the cards and will use them in other projects.
For this card, I simply stamped the balloons from Honeycomb Happiness on the pre-printed card front and then paper-pieced the balloons using paper from Cherry on Top paper pack, popping them up using Dimensionals.
