Easy Masking Technique-Quite Meadow

Easy Masking Technique

Here’s a technique that will add depth and interest to your card products.

It’s easy to do yet will provide that WOW factor to your cards.

You can see another Masking Technique card I created Here

I paired the masking technique with the Quite Meadow stamp set for a quick and easy Hello card.

Here’s how:

  1. Create a mask for the flowers and leaves.  Stamp image on a scrap piece of paper or Post-It Note.  I stamped it on a Basic White card stock piece since the image is larger than the Post-It Notes I have in my stash.
  2. Cut out the image.  If you used a Post-It Note, be sure to have the sticky part as part of the cut-out.  If not, add a small amount of adhesive to the mask to avoid shifting while stamping.
  3. Place mask on Very Vanilla card front.  Stamp word image from Quiet Meadow repeatedly over the mask using Early Espresso ink.
  4. Remove mask.  Stamp flower and leaves image in the blank space from the masking using Early Espresso ink.
  5. Color image using a variety of Stampin’ Blends or Stampin’ Write Markers.  I used Flirty Flamingo, Lovely Lipstick, Granny Apple Green, and Crushed Curry Stampin’ Blends.
  6. Sponge Early Early Espresso ink along the edges.  Dab ink over image to help “age” it.
  7. Stamp greeting on Petal Pink card stock using Early Espresso ink.  I used the greeting from the Beauty of Friendship stamp set.
  8. Cut out using a die-cut machine and tag Meadow Die.
  9. Tie a bow out of Linen Thread.  Attach tag to card front using a Mini Dimensional to pop it up.  Attach bow using a Glue Dot.
  10. Add 2021-2023 In Color Jewels to complete.

I hope you’ll give this easy masking technique a try.
