Moonrise Over The Mountain

Moonrise Over the Mountain

for the Cards 4 Guys Sketch Challenge #366

I recently discovered the Cards 4 Guys challenge site, and I love the concept!

It’s a fantastic source of inspiration for designing masculine-themed cards.

If you ever struggle with creating cards for the men in your life, this challenge site is the perfect solution!

Here’s the sketch:

Moonrise Over the Mountain How-to:

1.Punch or die-cut a circle out of Smoky Slate card front.  Emboss using Snowflake Sky Embossing Folder.

2.Stamp moon from Under the Moon on Basic White card stock using Versamark ink.  Heat emboss with silver embossing powder. Punch using 2 1/4″ circle punch.

3.Tear a strip of Basic White card stock to create the mountains.  Sponge Night of Navy ink along the top edge.

4.Cut a piece of Bright & Beautiful 6″ x 6″ designer series paper slightly smaller than the Smoky Slate card front.

5. Lay the moon on the DSP and lightly trace around it using a pencil.  With a Blending Brush, add White Craft ink beyond the traced circle to add moon glow around the moon.

6. Attach moon using Dimensionals to pop it up.  Attach mountains.

7. Place card front over the DSP.  Attach to Night of Navy card base.  Add silver embellishments.

8. Stamp greeting from Sending Smiles on Basic White card stock using Night of Navy ink.  Die-cut using coordinating Smiles Dies.  Attach to Night of Navy mat.  Attach to card front to complete.
