Paper Towel Background Shaker Valentine’s
Recycle and reuse!
I incorporate paper towels I use to clean stamps and blot watercolors in my crafting, adding interesting colors and texture to my projects.
For instance, this paper towel used for a flurry of Valentine’s Day crafting with pinks, purples, and a touch of gold.
Let’s see what I can make with it!
First I cut it in half, then attached the 2 pieces to card stock so they could easily be trimmed down, and then created this card.
Details can be found in this posting
Let’s make a shaker card with the second half!

Valentine’s Day Shaker Card How-To:
1.Attach the paper towel to a card front.
2.Die-cut or punch a heart out of the center.
3.For the shaker card, you’ll need a piece of window sheet smaller than the heart die-cut. Add adhesive around the edges of the heart on the back side, placing the window sheet over the opening.
Tip:Stamp greeting on the front before proceeding.
4.Add Tear and Tape Adhesive around the edges of the heart on the back side. Remove the backing. Place beads, glitter or small trinkets in the center of a piece of card stock cut slightly smaller than the card front.
5.Carefully place the heart over the card stock, pressing the edges to seal so the contents don’t spill out.
You know have a shaker card!
6.Create a frame by die-cutting two different sized hearts, one inside the other. Attach to the front of the heart.
7.Attach to a card base and add some embellishments to complete.
Done!
