Hello Under a Violet Sky | Color Dare Challenge 711

Here are this week’s colors for the Color Dare Challenge #711
I saw Highland Heather, Crisp Cantaloupe, Real Red, and Gorgeous Grape.
Two shades of purple, my favorite!
Plus the subtle Crisp Cantaloupe, and the red pop of color!
For this card, I used retired stamp sets Country Bird House and dies (bird and speckles), Golden Greenery (berries), and Sunshine Vibes (greeting).
Hello Under a Violet Sky How-to:
Create the Background
-First, create a stencil by die-cutting a 2″ circle from a piece of grid sheet paper. Place the circle cutout onto a piece of Basic White cardstock to mask the moon area.
-Next, create an acrylic block watercolor background by tapping Highland Heather ink onto Clear Block F. Spritz the block with water, then stamp it over the card front and circle mask. Hold the block in place for a few seconds before lifting it away. Then, blot any excess ink with a paper towel and set the cardstock aside to dry.
-Once the background dries, place the circle stencil over the blank moon area while masking the rest of the card front. Then use a Blending Brush to apply Crisp Cantaloupe ink and create the soft moon glow.
Create the Focal Elements
-Stamp the bird image onto a scrap of Basic White cardstock using Gorgeous Grape ink. Next, color the wings and tail with the new Crisp Cantaloupe Wink of Stella for a subtle shimmer effect.
-Then die-cut the leaves from Crisp Cantaloupe cardstock.
Assemble the Card
-Attach the leaves to the card front and tuck the bird underneath using Mini Dimensionals.
-Next, stamp the berries and the greeting using Real Red ink.
-Finally, add the Gorgeous Grape speckles to complete the card with extra texture and detail.
I hope you’ll join in the fun! Color challenges are a great way to spark creativity and try color combinations you might not normally choose.
Create your project, share it on your favorite social media platform—blog, Facebook, Instagram, and more—then link your creation on the Color Dare site. I’d love to see what you create!
