Scenic Coast Sunrise for Color Dare 707

Scenic Coast Sunrise for Color Dare 707

using the acrylic block watercolor background technique!

Here are the colors.  I saw Azure Afternoon, Pretty in Pink, Berry Burst, and Pretty Peacock.

One of my favorite stamping techniques is creating watercolor backgrounds with a clear acrylic block.

First, I apply ink directly to the block, spritz it with water, and let the colors run and pool together before stamping it onto cardstock.

After pressing the block down for a few moments, I lift it to reveal a unique watercolor effect.

Next, I either blot the excess ink or allow the background to air dry naturally.

As a result, every background turns out differently because the colors blend and react in unexpected ways.

For Color Dare Challenge 707, I combined Afternoon Azure, Pretty in Pink, and Berry Burst to create a soft sunrise sky.

Then, I paired the colorful background with a Pretty Peacock cliff and lighthouse from the Scenic Coast Dies to complete the coastal scene.

Finally, I finished the card with a greeting from the Opulent Oasis, heat embossed in white for a crisp, striking sentiment.

I hope this project inspires you to create along with us, and I’d love to see you join this week’s Color Dare Challenge!
